Please join us for a talk by Senior Lector in Yiddish at Yale, Joshua Price. On the heels of the landmark publication of Chaim Grade's Sons and Daughters, Dr. Price will consider Grade's life, times, and narrative art as revealed by the novel. He will also discuss the challenges of translating from Yiddish, a language which gestures toward both postwar devastation and the need, albeit the impossibility, of reconstruction.
