HIAS Refugee Shabbat Service and Dinner

6:00 PM - 8:00 PMWelcoming the Stranger is one of Judaism’s core values. This year CBJ will celebrate HIAS Refugee Shabbat during Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday, April 4, 6:00 pm. The guest speakers will be congregant Bruce Ditman, who will describe his family’s resettlement by HIAS after World War II, and Herbert Brockman, Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Mishkan Israel, who will discuss current efforts by faith organizations to help refugees.
