The High Holidays are a time for prayer, reflection and renewal. But they are also a time for heightened vigilance against threats to our community.
Please join us for training led by Michael Shanbrom from Secure Community Network (SCN) and supported by the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven. Participants will learn how to recognize suspicious or potentially dangerous behavior and respond appropriately in order to protect yourself, your family and your community. Two training sessions will be held at B’nai Jacob in order to maximize participation.
Please join us on Saturday, September 14 at 1pm (in-person only) or Wednesday, September 25 at 7pm (Zoom or in-person).
Both sessions will cover the same material, so you do not need to attend both. While we will offer a Zoom option for Sept 25, it is highly recommended that you attend in person.
Adults and children 12 and older are welcome to participate. You do not need to register in advance. For questions or additional information, please contact Adam Dworkin at adworkin@comcast.net.

Well before last October the teachers for this class have been working with the role narratives in our lives and our professions. Understanding and articulating one’s own narrative is a fundamental aspect of psychoanalysis. Similarly, learning narratives from religious faiths is integral to many people’s primary traditions. These narratives are transformative, shaping our conceptions of family, community, and self. They can be shaken up in psychoanalytic work and serve as a bedrock of religious practice. Please join the discussions in this zoom class. -
